Update from General Manager Davy Ratchford to Season Pass Holders

Tue May 05 2020

Dear Loyal Guests,

I hope that you and your loved ones are doing well during this time.  COVID-19 has disrupted our way of life and we at Snowbasin continue to navigate the evolving impact the pandemic has had on all of us.

This letter is intended to address some of the efforts we have made after the abrupt end to the 2019-20 winter season. You will soon receive an email that will go into detail regarding our plan for season pass holders. Our plan should address many of the questions we have recently received from pass holders and many of the concerns around the next winter.

We have been working on this plan since mid-March and acknowledge that it has taken a bit of time to come to fruition. When the season ended, we prioritized a few weeks to take care of our amazing staff and since have turned our attention to our pass holders. We feel we have developed a fair program for season pass holders and are excited to share it with you in the days to come.

In addition, here are a few updates to other questions and concerns we have heard from you:

•Grizzly Center has resumed operation on Saturdays and Sundays in May from 10am to 3pm. With additional safety measures in place, guests may access the building for lockers, the retail shop, repairs and Learn & Earn gear returns if needed. For the safety of everyone, face coverings are encouraged.

•The Learn & Earn Program is on sale for the 2020-21 winter season. The first year of the program features season-long rental equipment, three lessons, and a season pass for guests that have never skied or snowboarded before. Second and third year programs are available to those that participated last season. Visit our Learn & Earn page for more info.

•Summer operations are being evaluated based on communication with local authorities. We strive to offer recreation and entertainment to our guests in a safe and responsible way. Hosting large events like the very popular Blues, Brews, and BBQ will not happen until local health guidelines permit.

•Uphill ski travel and hiking trails near Snowbasin remain open for guests to enjoy with social distancing measures in place. [Exercise caution; area is not patrolled nor controlled for hazards]

Now more than ever, we appreciate the extraordinary Snowbasin community.  The amount of care and consideration you have poured out to our staff is astonishing. We are your neighbors and friends, and like each of you have been impacted by this pandemic.  We really appreciate your patience and optimism as we try to find a way forward through this unusual time.

We will get through this together and soon be sharing this beautiful mountain we all love.
