Skip the Climb, Start at the Top
Not every great hike starts at the bottom. Needles Gondola gives you direct access to Snowbasin's upper-mountain trails, opening up ridgeline routes with some of the most expansive views in the Northern Wasatch. Three hiking-only trails trace the crest of the ridge from the top, and the surrounding terrain offers a completely different perspective on the resort. Weekend gondola-served hiking begins Saturday, June 20th. Grab a sightseeing ticket and start your hike where the views are already worth the trip.
Wildlife Watch
Snowbasin's trails put you in the middle of some of the richest wildlife habitat in Northern Utah. Keep your eyes open for moose wandering through the wildflowers and trees, yellow-bellied marmots peeking out from the rocks across the upper mountain, and red-tailed hawks soaring overhead or nesting in the pines. The resort is also home to a remarkable variety of bird species including the mountain bluebird, western tanager, yellow warbler, and warbling vireo. Whether you are an avid birder or simply love being out in nature, there is always something worth stopping for on the trail. Wildflowers are abundant from late June through August.
