Snowbasin's 85th Season Has Come to an End
Sunday, March 22, marked the close of Snowbasin's 85th year on the mountain, and what a ride it was. From the first turns of the season to the final runs during our Basin Bash, this winter reminded us of something we already knew: this community is something special. To every guest who showed up with a smile, a little patience, and a whole lot of stoke, and to every team member who gave everything they had to make this season great, thank you.
Making the Most of a Difficult Season
Let's be honest. Mother Nature didn't exactly cooperate this winter. Snow was scarce across the region, and our team had to get creative, resourceful, and downright relentless to keep the mountain in the best shape possible. That meant trucking in snow, hand-packing and bagging it where it was needed most, and jumping on every snowmaking window the weather allowed. Our snowmaking, grooming, and patrol crews worked around the clock to stretch every inch of coverage and protect the guest experience from top to bottom.
"Even with the challenges this season brought, our team stayed focused on delivering a great experience and making the most of every opportunity on the mountain," said General Manager Davy Ratchford. "From moving and farming snow to taking advantage of every snowmaking window, it was a true team effort. I'm incredibly proud of all of our departments, especially our patrol, snowmaking, and grooming crews, who played a critical role throughout this unique season."
That dedication showed up in the numbers. Snowbasin saw all-time high employee service scores in their survey to skiers throughout the season. In a year defined by challenge and uncertainty, our team delivered some of the best guest experiences in resort history, and that's a direct reflection of the people who make this place what it is.
