2023 summer operations run Saturdays and Sundays beginning in late June through early October.
Hike from the base of the mountain, or take Needles Gondola for a head-start on our wide array of trails. In addition to our mountain biking trails, three hiking-only trails are offered that lead to the crest of the ridge for breathtaking views of the valley far below.
While hiking or biking, spend time identifying common Wildflowers at Snowbasin! Grab a sheet at the top of Needles Gondola or print the Common Wildflower Sheet before you arrive.
Please note that Snowbasin hosts large-scale private events that may impact public access to trails and operations. These will be announced at a future date.
Snowbasin Resort’s single track trails are well maintained and wind through scenic aspen groves and glades of pines. All levels of riding are available from the base including gondola accessed trails. More than 26 miles of trails connect to additional Forest Service trails for nearly 50 miles of fun. Snowbasin also offers gondola bike access to challenging uphill climbs and extreme downhill switchbacks. Novice and moderate trails are the perfect choices for a scenic family ride or picnic.
The use of electric bikes is allowed only within the Snowbasin Resort boundary, labeled on the summer trail map. Due to the weight of these bikes, guests must be able to load them onto Needles Gondola themselves without Snowbasin staff assistance. The US Forest Service has designated e-bikes as motorized vehicles and does not permit them on their trails outside Snowbasin Resort. These trails include Sardine Peak, Wheeler Canyon, East Fork and Middle Fork. Please use caution if transitioning from Snowbasin Resort trails to US Forest Service Trails to adhere to USFS policies.
Enjoy a 12-minute scenic ride up the gondola to Needles Lodge. The views are endless! Spot Pineview Reservoir in Ogden Valley below and keep a lookout for moose and deer wandering around the resort. Needles Lodge is serving up lunch on Saturdays from 11am - 3pm and brunch on Sundays from 10am to 3pm.
Needles Gondola is dog friendly, but please do not bring your pets into the lodges or anywhere food is being served. Please make sure to pick up after your pet.
