SKI Magazine Highlights Snowbasin's Olympic Downhill as 2034 Games Approach

SKI Magazine released an in-depth feature highlighting Snowbasin Resort's iconic Grizzly Downhill course, which will once again serve as a key alpine event venue in the 2034 Winter Olympics. The leading ski voice emphasized the course's legendary difficulty and world-class design by renowned architect Bernhard Russi, describing it as "the most difficult downhill in the United States" and "the Kitzbühel of North America."

The article features insights from Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street and Team USA Olympian Marco Sullivan, who share their firsthand experiences racing this challenging 2,897-vertical-foot course in the 2002 Winter Olympics. SKI Magazine notes that Snowbasin, recently voted No. 1 in their annual Reader's Resort Guide, will host all alpine skiing events for the 2034 Games, giving the resort an even more prominent role than in 2002 when it hosted only the speed events and combined.

"It has been described as the most difficult downhill in the United States, the 'Kitzbühel of North America.' Except the average gradient is steeper than that of Kitzbühel's Streif."
