The countdown to the 2025-26 winter season just got even more exciting. Snowbasin Resort has completed two transformative projects that will revolutionize the guest experience this winter. The brand-new Becker Chairlift stands ready to welcome skiers and riders, while cutting-edge RFID technology has been installed across every lift on the mountain.
The Becker Chairlift project represents one of the most significant infrastructure investments in recent resort history. What started as a 1986 fixed-grip triple chair has been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art detachable quad system. After months of intensive construction work, including tower installations and terminal placements throughout the fall, the lift has passed all safety testing and is ready to operate. This high-speed technology will transport approximately 1,800 riders per hour to the top terminal in just six minutes, a dramatic improvement that will open up terrain access like never before. The capacity increase means shorter wait times and more runs for everyone.
Complementing this lift upgrade, Snowbasin has also installed RFID gates at lifts across the resort. This radio-frequency identification technology eliminates the hassle of digging passes or tickets out of pockets in the cold. Simply approach the gate and go. The system is projected to reduce lift wait times by up to 25%, giving you more time to enjoy some of Utah's best terrain and less time standing in line. Combined with Snowbasin's continued commitment to free parking and no reservations, these upgrades reinforce the resort's reputation as the most accessible ski experience in Utah.
