Snowbasin is committed to the guest experience on our mountain. We are excited to feature the following upgrades for the Winter 2022-23 season. Be sure to purchase a Snowbasin Season Pass to enjoy these enhancements and an exciting year ahead. Shop Now >>

Snowmaking & Trail Upgrades

After the addition of Middle Bowl Express last winter, our mid-mountain terrain received another exciting upgrade. Snowmaking was added to nearly 10 acres of terrain with 22 energy-efficient machines. This will allow Snowbasin to open more terrain earlier in the season.

In addition to receiving snowmaking, two trails received further enhancements. Boardwalk was widened to improve mountain safety as the easiest way down from Needles Gondola. Also, Bullwinkle received grading improvements to serve as a primary route down the mountain for an improved skiing experience.

Improved Avalanche Mitigation

We installed a Gazex system in the Allen Peak Tram area to allow our team to remotely mitigate avalanche danger. This system uses specially constructed “exploder” sites and tubes to trigger avalanches at controlled times. This will allow us to open this terrain quicker after storms, while protecting our valued guests and employees.

Gladed Tree Skiing

New gladed areas were added to provide easier access to tree sking. Identified by an icon on our trail map, be sure to explore these areas after a big storm for ungroomed powder and exciting turns. They could be found off Dan's Run, Becks and in the Bear Hollow Woods.

Snowshoe Adventure Zone

An educational adventure zone for families and kids was added within the Snowshoe Run and adjacent gladed terrain. Visit this for special skier safety information and discover fun educational exhibits.

Daytime Uphill Travel Route

A daytime uphill travel route was added below the base of Strawberry Gondola to provide more recreation opportunities for our community. It'll be available from 9am to 3pm each day as conditions allow. A free Uphill Access Pass is required to participate and will be available soon on our uphill travel page >>
