Snowbasin hosts large-scale private events that may impact trail access and available operations within the resort boundary. For summer 2021, we are hosting the following events.
Snowbasin is thrilled to replace Middle Bowl with a new six-person express lift. Currently, the loop portion of the Cirque Loop trail is closed, but guests can still access the lower portion of this trail to hike to the Ridge Trail. To access this portion, hike down the summer road and enter the trail to the right.
Additionally, Becker Trail is closed due to snowmaking pipe upgrades in the Strawberry area. Utilize Moonshine Trees & Needles Trail to bike or hike down the mountain. View Trail Map >>
Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26
There will be no gondola-accessed mountain biking on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th due to the XTERRA Championship happening. Please note that all surrounding US Forest Service Trails will be utilized for the race as well. Earl's Servery will be open Friday and Saturday for food service. Sunday, Earl's Slopeside will be open for breakfast 8 am - 11 am.
Saturday, June 19
Due to the Bike Race, there will be NO lift-served mountain biking. Guests may hike the upper trails and ride the gondola back down. Please note there could be snowfields on the trails. If you would like to ride your bikes, please access the surrounding Forest Service Trails, Ogden Overlook, Wheeler Canyon, and Sardine Peak.
Monday, June 21 - Sunday, June 27
All lifts served biking trails are closed today due to the MTN OPS Archery Event. Hiking is only available on the Cirque Trail and Ridge Trail. Guests can hike these trails and ride the gondola down. Thanks for your understanding!
Thursday, July 15 - Sunday, July 18
Trails Closed July 15 - July 18 due to Spartan Race: Whole Snowbasin Trail System closed to bikers. Guests can ride Middle Fork, Ogden Overlook, and other National Forest Service Trails surrounding Snowbasin. If guests would like to hike the Cirque Loop and the Ridge Trail then ride the gondola down, that is allowed. Also, lower mountain Outer Moose Loop and Inner Moose Loop will be open to the public. Lunch Service will be available on Saturday at Earl's Lodge from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Friday, July 23 - Sunday, July 25
Trails Closed to the public Friday, July 23 - Sunday, July 25 due to MAF: Whole Snowbasin Trail System closed. Guests can only ride National Forest Service Trails surrounding Snowbasin. There will be NO public access on the gondola Saturday or Sunday, except for brunch. Please respect trail closures as this is an archery event with arrows. Special Operations of Earl's Lodge include breakfast Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 8:00 am - 11:00 am lunch service Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, and dinner service 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, and Saturday.
No trails will be closed during this event. However, please note that Wednesday, July 28, the event will be on the Moose Loops and Squirrel Trail. There will be trail monitors, asking guests to pause, while the participants go through. Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31 the participants will be utilizing the lower summer road, so we asks guests to be cautious while crossing the summer road.
Friday, August 27 - Saturday, August 28
Porcupine Downhill Trail and Middle Trail are closed Saturday, August 28 to the public due to 29029. 29029 will also be utilizing the Summer Road towards the top of the mountain. We ask all public guests bikers and hikers to share the one side of the summer road, so the other side is open for 29029 participants. If you are a biker utilizing the summer road to access our other mountain biking trails, we strongly recommend walking your bike down this conjested area. Thank you for your understanding!
Friday, September 3rd and 10th -not closed but please note there will be high traffic usage on the lower mountain trails.
Saturday, September 4th and 11th
There will be no gondola-accessed mountain biking on Saturday the 4th or Saturday the 11th. Enjoy scenic gondola rides and cheer on these talented kids. If you would like to hike on the upper mountain Ridge Trail or Cirque Loop and ride the gondola down, that will be allowed. The trails within the resort boundary will experience high traffic Friday the 3rd and 10th, so just be aware. Please respect this closure and hike/bike outside the resort boundary on US Forest Service Trails.
