At Snowbasin Resort the health, safety, and well-being of our guests, staff, and community continue to be of the utmost importance to us. We are welcoming guests back this summer with new protocols and procedures to ensure guests can safely recreate and enjoy the outdoors. Because of this, we have extensively revised our summer operating plans in each of our resort areas with the guidance and knowledge from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of Utah Health Department and the Weber/Morgan Health Departments.

Snowbasin is committed to following all state and local health orders and will be continuously adjusting operations and safety protocols to protect staff and guests

  • Keep Guests Safe
    • Hand sanitizer dispensers, touch-less whenever possible, will be placed at key guest entrances and contact areas. Guests are asked to sanitize their hands upon entry.
    • Physical Distancing Guidelines - Guests will be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other groups of people not traveling with them while standing in lines, using elevators, or moving around the property. Needles Lodge patio tables and other physical layouts will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing. Guests will be reminded not to touch their faces and to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from others whenever possible. All resort properties and retail outlets will comply with local or state-mandated occupancy limits.
    • Signage providing instructions to both Snowbasin guests, staff, and vendors will be placed prominently throughout the resort providing guidance and instructions on social distancing and the request for wearing of a face cover/mask.
    • Snowbasin uses cleaning products and protocols that meet EPA & CDC guidelines, such as eMist electrostatic disinfectant sprayers. These protocols are approved for the treatment of and are effective against viruses, bacteria, and other airborne and bloodborne pathogens. We are working with our vendors, distribution partners, and suppliers to obtain an uninterrupted supply of cleaning supplies and all required PPE.
    • The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces including, but not limited to, ticketing areas, door handles, public bathrooms, ATMs, stair handrails, dining surfaces, and seating areas.
    • Needles Lodge will offer a barbeque service on the patio and reduce seating capacity to allow a minimum six-feet distance between each seated group.
    • Contactless payments and interactions will be utilized whenever possible.
    • Liability releases and all guest paperwork will be completed electronically. Printed trail maps will only be available upon request, an electronic version is available here
    • Meetings and Banquet set-up will promote physical distancing between guests in all meetings and events.
    • Point-of-Sale will have sneeze guards as well as hand sanitizer in place. The point-of-sale will be cleaned and disenfected between every transaction.
    • Snowbasin will not be accepting returns or exchanges at this time in the Grizzly Center.
    • Yoga on the Needles Patio will have socially distanced spaces to ensure guest safety. Classes will have a maximum of 20 participants.
    • Mini Golf groups cannot be larger than 6 guests, there will be at least a ten-minute interval between each group, and the holes will be redesigned so that reaching in the hole to retrieve the ball is not necessary.

  • Asking of Our Guests

  • Employee Safety
    • Correct hygiene and frequent handwashing with soap are vital to help combat the spread of virus. All team members have been instructed to wash their hands, or use sanitizer when a sink is not available, every 60 minutes (for 20-seconds) and after any of the following activities: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing the nose, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, smoking, eating, drinking, entering and leaving lift conveyances, going on break and before or after starting a shift. Food and Beverage employees will follow this directive at least once every 30 minutes.
    • All employees will receive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols with more comprehensive training for our teams with frequent guest contact including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Retail, Ticketing, Lift Operations, Mountain Patrol, and Security.
    • Appropriate PPE will be worn by all employees based on their role and responsibilities and in adherence to state or local regulations and guidance. Training on how to properly use and dispose of all PPE will be mandatory. Every employee entering the resort will be provided a mask and required to wear that mask while on the property in settings where physical distancing measures cannot be or may be difficult to maintain. Gloves will be provided to employees whose responsibilities require them as determined by medical experts and changed frequently based on guidelines from CDC and local health organizations.
    • All employees will have a daily health screening where their temperature is taken and recorded as well as answer questions relating to COVID-19. If an employee is experiencing any symptoms or have family experiencing symptoms, the employee is required to stay at home.
