Snowbasin Resort To Open Friday, November 29th - Weather Permitting

By Megan Collins Thu Nov 21 2019 Basin Buzz, Skiing, Snowbasin Report, Snowboarding, Upcoming Events

Snowbasin Resort has rescheduled Opening Day of the 2019-20 season to Friday, November 29th at 9:00 a.m. with top-to-bottom skiing from Needles Gondola, plus operation from Middle Bowl Triple and Littlecat Express.

Davy Ratchford, General Manager explains, “We pride ourselves in offering the best guest experience possible and believe offering top-to-bottom skiing and riding from multiple lifts with 2,300 vertical feet is essential. Last season was historic, with our earliest opening ever and extension to the end of the season. If weather and conditions permit, we will always open as soon as possible.” He continues, “I’m so proud of the hardworking team I have the pleasure of working with at Snowbasin. Everyone is working around the clock to open as soon as possible and to deliver on what will be an incredible season.”

Snowbasin Resort will celebrate opening day with first gondola prizes and free t-shirts for the first 100 guests in line. It will feature a festive atmosphere with overnight camping permitted, a DJ on the plaza throughout the day and live ambient music in the Cinnabar starting at 3:00 p.m. by Danny Patino and company.

Opening day features the debut of several enhancements to Snowbasin Resort, highlighted by a ribbon-cutting of the renovated Earl’s Lodge servery. New Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef are thrilled to share new dining experiences with elevated food quality and improved service for guests. “I think guests will be blown away at the improvements we’ve made over the summer.  Especially at Earls Lodge.  The improved flow and menu enhancements by Chef Davies will be awesome for our guests while still keeping the old favorites our locals love”, says Ratchford.

Open runs will include Sweet Revenge, Porky Traverse, Middle Bowl Traverse, Bear Hollow, Snowshoe, School Hill, Powder Puff, and a small terrain park. The Grizzly Center will be open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm for lessons, tuning, shopping, and rentals. The Activities Desk in Earl’s Lodge will be open 8:30 am – 4:30 pm for pass printing. Dining will be available in the newly renovated Earl’s Lodge and on top of the mountain at Needles Lodge.

Prior to opening day, Snowbasin encourages guests to visit the resort to print season passes to head directly to the lift on opening day. The Grizzly Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday and next week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for season pass pick-up, shopping and rentals.

If guests have not bought season passes for this year, Snowbasin’s discounted pre-opening prices have been extended through Cyber Monday, December 2. Opening Weekend lift tickets are available for $67 for Youth, $93 for Seniors and $118 for Adults. Guests that purchase lift tickets online in advance receive discounts up to $20.
