John Paul Jones, an avid believer in the Snowbasin concept, was killed in World War II before he could ever see the realization of his dream for the mountain. The John Paul lift is named in his honor and now the famed veteran has a namesake in the John Paul Lodge. The lodge, located at 8,900 feet, is accessible to all via the John Paul high-speed quad chair lift. The lodge is designed around a large, two-story, four-sided fireplace where the visitors can warm themselves as they look out over the valley or up at the start houses for the downhill courses.
